How to Grow on Social Media

Social media is no longer a gimmick, it’s a real comms channel that your organisation must include in its marketing strategy.

But what should your social media goal be? Thousands of like, millions of views, and enormous conversion rates?

Well not quite. You see social media can achieve these things, but ultimately, it’s difficult to gain this type of success, especially in the initial stages. If you set these goals for your socials, you may be unimpressed by the results, and your stakeholders could lose faith altogether.

So what should you strive to achieve?

Consistency. The true, tested, and honest way to grow in social media is to be consistent. You don’t have to post every day, but you do need to post and maintain your frequency.

With each post, your page gains more engagement and will gradually increase its following with followers that genuinely want to see your content, rather than a big rush of new followers from a single viral post that don’t engage with any of your future posts.

Post your content across your selection of social platforms consistently over an extended period, a year, for example, and they will gain traction, drive more traffic to your landing pages, and result in more conversions to revenue generation.

I have seen this in practice, I have put it into practice, and I know it works. It may not get you the viral fame you are hoping for, but it gives you achievable goals, and real outcome.

This approach helps you nurture a real audience who care about your pages and the content you post, instead of a load of one-off followers gained from one viral video that no one remembers after a few days.

I have gone viral before and there’s nothing like that rush of your content taking off. This rush is only matched by the crush of none of your posts doing well again after. The truth is it is just not sustainable.

Treat your content growth goals like you treat your scrambled eggs. Low and slow for the best result.
